"Hedengran" (pronounced Head-en-gran) is a Swedish family name, "ljuset" (you-set) is the Swedish word for candles. Hedengranljuset, designed in 1992, are handcrafted in Bergby, Sweden (200 km north of Stockholm) by a family who produce these uniquely styled candles using traditional methods.
The candles, made from 95% Swedish stearin and 5% paraffin, are skillfully hand poured and hand finished. They do not require a candleholder, due to the stable wax base incorporated into the design, which allows the candles to stand perfectly straight, and burn evenly. Each candle is protected in its own presentation box.
Slow burning, with a bright flame, they will retain their smooth, hard finish, as the wax will not run, if placed in a draught free setting.
